Melting
It's been a long time. Lots of events are happening, that I hate.
My first musing/outrage is that of the riots and killings all over India. Muslims were killing the people from the north - east and no one knows exactly why. True, it might have started from misunderstanding about land ownership; but, what propelled it forward?
People in my hometown were fleeing to Assam, worried that someone might butcher them, on their way to work/college.
Is there no humanity left?
Maybe because the end of the world is approaching, people want to take destruction into their own hands. Whatever the reason, this is not right.
India is everyone's home. No religion, no state and no ethnicity can claim her. She has her pride. She has love for all her children. There is a reason she is called the " Melting Pot ". All cultures, tastes, beliefs and wisdoms come together and seep into the lives of billions, making India the most aromatic and tasty country in the world.
And that is something people need to realise.
But, it seems the festering hate of a few, is rotting the love of the many. Why is the melting pot melting? Why does ambrosia taste like blood?
I guess it is time we brought the heat down.

A Complete Crossword
It's been such a long time since I completed a crossword puzzle. A variety of factors were at play. Lack of time, lack of interest, too much work...... the list is quite tiring. But, today I awoke with a resolution - I would finish the crossword puzzle today. Will power does wonders. Although the crossword set me behind schedule, it gave me a sense of satisfaction. That's something that doesn't come often. The happiness that one feels when a project is completed, is something indescribable. So, I have decided something. A new( long overdue) New Year's resolution.
From now on, each morning i will set aside a few minutes for my crossword puzzles. That's something that each of us must do. Not just with crosswords, but, with everything. Spend time with our family, talk to them. Read the paper. Take in the beauty of nature. Write a few verses. Hum your favourite song. Just do little things, those that make you feel happy and rested. Things that make you feel content.
Live life like there is no tomorrow. Enjoy each moment for what it is. After all, a year of sorrow can very well be replaced by a minute of happiness. Start with the small and the simple. You don't have to climb the highest mountain, or swim the deepest ocean (unless of course, you want to). But, whatever it is that you decide to do, remember to give it your all. You never know when you might get the chance to do it again.

There are many things in the world that confuse us, that we find hard to understand. We don't know how to approach the problem and that makes us afraid of it. But, what we have to realise, is there is nothing to be scared about. All it takes, to understand something complicated, is to look at it in the simplest way possible. After all, the most complex truths lie in the simplest of riddles.
